Two RuPaul’s Drag Race stars are visiting the city in two separate events to spice up your nights out. The pandemic saw nightclubs close for the entirety of our two major lockdowns, but as clubs start to finally open up with partial restrictions, one LGBT club night is coming back with a bang. The Glitterbomb club night franchise has been a regular feature on Cambridge’s gay scene and was one of only two lasting regular club nights before the pandemic hit. Though it used to feature weekly on Tuesday nights, for Pride month Glitterbomb is back tonight, June 4, and is bringing its legendary lineup of drag artists with it. After over a year without drag, Glitterbomb is bringing the headline acts to Cambridge with two RuPaul’s Drag Race stars. Tonight (June 4) Cambridge can party almost like it did before with RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Sister Sister. This time fully seated, Glitterbomb will take over their regular venue Vinyl on Sidney Street with the season two Liverpudlian queen for 5 per ticket. Sister Sister is quoted in the ad: “Honestly, it just nice to be out the house.” Sister Sister will be there performing at 10pm alongside resident queen and lip sync star Aria. Later this year another RuPaul Drag Race star will grace the stage at Vinyl. US 2020 star Crystal Methyd is heading to the club on her UK Wonderland tour on September 29. She was the runner up on the 2020 challenge that saw fans fall in love with her unique and kooky style. She will be performing on September 29 (lockdown gods willing) after her tour was pushed back again and again at the start of the pandemic.
