La Perla is set to relaunch its beauty line, according to a report published by WWD. The Italian lingerie brand called time on its licensing deal with Revlon last year, having launched its own beauty subsidiary in 2019 and the fruits of its labor are poised to hit shelves this summer.
The range comprises fragrance, a vegan prebiotic body care trio and color cosmetics collection, set to debut next month. Products are designed to be refillable and boast sustainable packaging the range has been awarded the Positive Luxury Butterfly Mark, PETA membership and an EcoVadis Bronze Medal. Beauty has reported its results for the three and twelve months ended March 32, 2021. The US mass beauty brand saw sales rise 24 percent in the final quarter of fiscal 2021 versus the same period in fiscal 2020, contributing to an overall uplift of 12 percent for the year, despite make up’s declining fortunes. Beauty said. Net income was US$6.2 million on a GAAP basis. The company said that it expects sales to increase 8 to 10 percent in fiscal 2022, versus the US$318 million racked up in fiscal 2021.

Shiseido and Dolce Gabbana have announced the partial termination of their beauty license agreement.

What Happened: China is set to become the world’s biggest luxury goods market by 2025, thanks to Chinese consumers spending more at home and less abroad, according to a Bain Co. report. Yet, while the personal luxury goods market is on track for its worst fall ever in 2020, China’s insatiable appetite for luxury continues to drive sales on the Mainland.
The post COVID 19 pandemic economy is in sharp decline, falling 23 percent from its 2019 size to $257 billion (217 billion euros) a return to 2014 levels. “The drop is the largest recorded since we have been tracking the industry,” says a press release by Bain.
